The West Port Red Release Sale saw some big dollars change hands
with the sale of a two-month-old
Lichtblick-Red-ET
calf on May 26, 2006. The Lichtblick calf,
Lorka
Platine Lichtblik,
sold for a phenomenal $17,500 and was the top of the sale. The
calf’s Dam is the well-known
Dudoc JLT
Pontage VG-86
who has been #24 on the Canadian Top 100 LPI list. The calf was
consigned by Ferme Lorka,
Ste-Croix, Que.
and was purchased by Jacqueline Fillion and
Ferme Filiale St-Ludger Inc., St-Ludger,
Que. The sale was hosted by
Scott and Beth Wilson at the
Brubacher Sale Arena in
Guelph, Ontario and was extremely well attended. Their West Port
prefix is well known to breeders of Red and White Holsteins all
over the planet.
