Summer Re-Cap... an Expo Preview?

ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA – October 1, 2007 –

Sept. 23 marked the first official day of fall and the end of the summer show season. While the industry’s attention is now turned toward the Superbowl of the dairy business – also known as World Dairy Expo – we’d like to highlight the summer accomplishments of some Excalibur Sires progeny across the country. And who knows…we just may be seeing them again in the near future!

Our summer re-cap starts in Missouri, where Adolph daughter McCulloughs Adolp Dorrie was named Intermediate Champion at the Missouri State Fair. The 1st place Jr. 3-year-old was exhibited by Jeff McCullough of Ash Grove, Mo.

Next we head north to Iowa where Great Heritage Cookie was the 2nd place Jr. 2-year-old at the Iowa State Fair. The VG-86 Norman daughter was exhibited by Leroy Eggink of Sibley, Iowa.

During the same week in Pennsylvania, another Norman daughter, Miss Riley Norman, was the 1st place spring calf and Reserve Junior Champion at the Pennsylvania Holstein Association’s Central Championship Show. She was exhibited by Ben Miller and Mark Ream of Markleton, Penn.

Elsewhere in the Keystone State, Highland-H Adolph Chloe brought home Grand Champion honors from the Pennsylvania Holstein Association’s Northwest Championship Junior Show after placing 1st in the Sr. 2-year-old class. Chloe’s owner is Christy Hindman of Brockway, Penn.

Our next stop is New York, where earlier in the summer Adolph daughter Tyrbach Adolph Lily placed 1st in the Jr. 2-year-old class at the Central New York Holstein Show. Lily was shown by Jordan Thomas and Lester Hosking.

We’d like to congratulate each of these exhibitors and wish them the best of luck if Expo is in their future.
