Excalibur Sires Wisconsin Tour

ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA – June 5th, 2007 –

A group from Excalibur Sires recently toured many dairy operations in Wisconsin. During the tours dairy producers had mentioned two bulls
they were extremely glad to have used in their herd. Those bulls are
Stormin Norman and Safari!

Up and Coming :   204HO2029 Safari
Ocean-View Roy Safari is siring the right kind of cows.  Safari is a Roy son out of Ocean-View Lindy Sheen EX 94.   Excalibur Sires’ team was anxious to see Safari daughters  since they are deviating +2,000 lbs of milk above herdmates.  Everyone was pleasantly surprised to find that these cows all looked as good as they were performing.  The Safari daughters were all beautiful flat boned open ribbed cows.  Moreover, they all had high and wide rear attachments and secure fore udders and great feet and legs.  When asked to see “mama”, Wayne Jones of Mt. Horeb, WI explained the dams of both his Safari daughters had been culled for poor udder, feet and legs or both.  Steve Towns of Townson Farms told us that he calved out 100 2-year-olds this year and his Safari daughter was easily among the top 10.  It’s pretty clear that Safari is stamping out the right kind.  Excalibur Sires has started the SET on Safari and will keep you posted on what is sure to be more exciting developments from this bull!

Proven Sire:
 204HO1010  Norman
It’s raining Beautiful cows for those who dairyman who used Highland-H Stormin Norman.  Excalibur Sires visited the Klessig dairy farm near New Holstein, WI. They were very proud to show off their four milking Stormin Normans.  The group was told the Norman’s were among the best young cows in the barn and they are decisively the best uddered cows in the group. Furthermore, they are the easiest cows to get bred back on first service.  These heifers all started out around 60 lbs a day and were now
up to 80 lbs and still climbing. This is the same pattern Excalibur Sires saw with Norman’s first crop daughters.

The Excalibur team also saw a fancy March calf sired by Stormin Norman at David Stoloda’s farm.  This calf is straight as an arrow on top and has fantastic legs.  This little darling just knew she was fancy as she held her head so proud.
