Excalibur Sires Owner Featured in
Famous International Magazine
ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA –
June 27, 2006 –
David Winkels, along with his wife
Julie, are owners and founders of the Rochester-based Excalibur
Sires. Winkels was interviewed in the just released June 25
issue of Holstein International magazine. Winkels was invited to
participate in the Holstein International’s “10 Questions”
interview, which only a handful of Holstein breeding experts
from around the world have been asked to participate in.
Winkels’ interview consisted of 10 questions developed by the
Holstein International reporting staff that focused on hot
topics such as, cross-breeding, selecting successful bulls for
artificial insemination and ways to correct Holstein
reproductive problems.
Excalibur Sires, which began in 1991
with only a shoe-string budget and without any outside
investors, has grown to a multinational company with 80 salesmen
in the United States as well as distributors in more than 25
foreign countries. Excalibur Sires’ sales in 2005 broke an all
time record for the company and were well over $4 million. The
phenomenal growth of Excalibur Sires is directly linked to David
Winkel’s strong philosophy of providing excellent genetic
choices to customers and selecting strong sales distributors to
represent the organization.
Holstein International
magazine is published each month and gives, by
means of herd reports, sire reports, interviews and background
articles, information on worldwide Holstein breeding to the
dairy farmers in Europe, North America, Asia, South America, and
the Pacific Rim. The publication
has thousands of readers in 54 different
countries and
is published in 5 different languages including
English, French, German, Italian, and Dutch.
